Baby Pokemon are a-okay in my book. You never have to change their diapers, for starters, and eventually they grow up into full fledged Pokemon that behave and make their Trainers proud.
I bring this up because most of the new Pokemon introduced in Pokemon GO since last month are, in fact, baby versions of pocket monsters you already know and (mostly) love. It’s pretty well known that you find them in eggs, and thus have to either drag yourself out in the cold or head to Sprint or Starbucks locations since those are now PokeStops. Sadly, neither company gave us any compensation to mention that.
The question is which eggs. And we have an answer for you. The seven baby Pokemon introduced so far can be found in the following eggs:

2 km Eggs
- Cleffa
- Igglybuff
5 km Eggs
- Pichu
- Togepi
10 km Eggs
- Elekid
- Magby
- Smoochum
Unless my math is incorrect, that means to catch and hatch ’em all, you’ll need to do a minimum of 44 km of walking, and when you consider that you’ll probably hatch a bunch of other Pokemon in the meantime, it should ensure you stay in good shape all winter.
As mentioned before, the baby Pokemon will mostly evolve into monsters you’ve seen before as they are fed candy — 25 in most cases, but 50 for Togepi, who evolves into Togetic, who is new to Pokemon GO.
Just in case you aren’t familiar with the other evolutions from previous Pokemon games …
- Cleffa -> Clefairy
- Elekid -> Electabuzz
- Igglybuff -> Jigglypuff
- Magby -> Magmar
- Pichu -> Pikachu
- Smoochum -> Jynx
Most of those are intuitive with the exception of Smoochum. In any case, you now know everything you need to get out and let some babies into your heart and your Pokedex. Happy hatching!
