The great thing about games like Plants vs. Zombies 2 is that they take an incredibly simple concept like a tower defense game and add on infinite updates and iterations. Just when you think a concept has been done to death, like Plants and Zombies killing each other over and over again, PopCap and EA surprise us yet again with another beefy and interesting update. This time, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is going back in time to the prehistoric age with the Jurassic Marsh update.

Included in the Jurassic Marsh update are 3 new dinosaurs, such as the Raptor and Stegosaurus, each of which have their own unique ways of fighting off the zombie hordes. The Jurassic Marsh update also has new plants as well, such as the Primal Peashooter and a new Premium Plant, the Grapeshot. The Primal Peashooter can stun enemies, while the Grapeshot explodes and scatters bouncing projectiles. Overall, the Jurassic Marsh update includes:

  • 4 new plants
  • 3 new dinosaurs
  • 7 new fully-themed costumed zombies
  • and 16 levels

On top of all that, PvZ2 is also getting a special worldwide 12-day autumn event called Food Fight. Plant and zombie costumes will all be themed after the fall season’s festivities. The worldwide mega event includes:

  • 2 special premium plants
  • 3 autumn-themed special zombies

The new update is now available for download on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
