Even though it tells its own epic story, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius isn’t afraid to mix things up by crossing over with other Final Fantasy titles or even real life celebrities. What it hasn’t done much of is collaborations with other video game franchises, but since Square Enix has plenty of them from which to choose, it was probably just a matter of time before one showed up.

When we say “a matter of time,” we actually mean, this Friday, Aug. 11, when the mechanized world of NieR: Automata will overlap with that of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Multiple characters from the sci-fi action RPG will be pixelized for your pleasure and make their way into Brave Exvius, including 2B, 9S, 21O, and Adam. Two new global exclusive characters, A2 and Eve, will also appear as players tackle a new limited time only event featuring NieR: Automata enemies and bosses.

Your rewards for taking up the challenge include materials to craft brand new weapons and armor, including Emil’s Head. You may remember Emil from the original NieR game, unless you had your memory wiped too.

The other big Brave Exvius news is the opening of registration for the FFBE Fan Festa event that will take place during New York Comic Con on Oct. 6 at CAPITALE. This free event includes a dev talk and Q&A session, exclusive in-game battle, challenges set by the producers and much more. It’s limited to 500 people, so you’ll want to sign up now before registration closes at midnight Pacific time on Aug. 23.

Now celebrating more than a year since its release and 25 million downloads around the world, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a free download available from the App Store and Google Play. The Nier: Automata event begins on Friday and runs through Thursday, Aug. 24.
