While Bethesda wowed crowds last night at their E3 showcase with the likes of Doom, Dishonored 2, and Fallout 4, their biggest surprise turned out to be Fallout Shelter. The title was unheard of before the event, so imagine the shock when it was not only announced, but released in the same night.

Fallout Shelter plays a lot like a upgraded Tiny Tower or Tiny Death Star. You take the role of a vault overseer, and you must make the decisions that will allow your home to prosper. You’ll control every aspect of your tiny vault dwellers’ lives, from what their jobs are, making them explore the wastes for exotic items and materials, to choosing who their mates will be.

Life’s not gonna be easy after the apocalypse though. You have to make sure your vault is generating the food, water, electricity, and living space to allow your citizens to survive and thrive. You’ll also have to worry about raiders from the wastelands trying to take what’s yours.

It’s available on the App Store now, and be sure to stay tuned for our upcoming review and strategy guide.
