Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger Review
By David Stone
The first Nancy Drew Dossier game, Lights, Camera, Curses! was a great success. It managed to combine fun, accessible hidden object gameplay with logic puzzles, some arcade mini-games and the usual high-quality Nancy Drew production values and story into one great product. After many months of waiting, the second title of the series, Resorting to Danger! manages to repeat the same great formula while improving upon the few nagging issues with the first. The Village Mage – Spellbinder Review
So much for modern medicine. The Village Mage - Spellbinder is a multitasking match-3 and time management hybrid that has you whipping up magic potions to cure everyone in the village. With all the talk about health care reform, it must be nice to live in a world where everything can be cured with dandelions and mushrooms! The story is barely there, but sets up the theme. Your receive your alchemists degree, and hope to open up your own alchemists' s academy someday, so you head home and quickly convert your parent's house into a shop. Now you're all ready to play. The Adventures of Mary Ann: Lucky Pirates Review
If you prefer some swashbuckling, keelhauling, and plank-walking flavor in your match-three puzzle action, then boy are you in luck. Sailing the deadly high seas in search of trouble and treasure provides the enticing thematic backdrop for a healthy dose of polished puzzle gameplay in The Adventures of Mary Ann: Lucky Pirates. A little piratical twist and a lot of variety make for some fun lighthearted Caribbean mayhem. Just watch out for sea serpents, scurvy, and sunken reefs along the way.Pizza Morgana: Episode 1 Review
By David Stone
Episodic releases are a pretty new thing for games. We've had a few successful releases (such as Tales of Monkey Island, or the Wallace and Gromit games, both by Telltale Games, and Amaranth Games' Aveyond series). Taking Uri Fink's successful Pizza Morgana comic and turning it into a game should be a piece of cake - or a slice of pizza. The problem is that the game ends just as it starts to cook.Princess Isabella: A Witch’s Curse Review
It's hard to know just how to describe Princess Isabella: A Witch's Curse, because it has so much going on. It's a huge, involved, beautiful mess of a game with a little bit of everything: hidden object portions, puzzle solving, skill games, even a quiz. As Princess Isabella, this should be the happiest day of your life. You're about to marry your beloved Prince Adam, but it seems that while you were out riding, a witch invaded your home, cursed the entire castle, and trapped everyone inside mirrors. You're the only one left to remove the curse and restore your family.Coconut Queen Review
By David Becker
It seems as though iWin has been on a winning streak with its recent releases. After the entertaining Kelly Green: Garden Queen only two weeks ago, Coconut Queen turns out to be the first game that can really compete with Build-a-lot in every respect.City Sights: Hello, Seattle! Review
Glad to have you on staff here at City Sights Magazine, kid, you do us proud! You're a great reporter, you know why? Because you've a keen eye for detail. You walk into a room and right away see everything there is to see - nothing gets past you. Your next assignment: Seattle! Now, get out there and show us the sights! In the new hidden object game City Sights: Hello, Seattle!, you'll tour around the Emerald City, visiting various famous locations and scouring them for items of interest. Each location is beautifully rendered, bright, colorful and even fairly faithful to their real-world counterparts; you definitely won't mind staring at them as you hunt for the items on your list. And oh, what a list it is.The Cameron Files: Secret at Loch Ness Review
History. Banshees. The Loch Ness monster. With all of these elements it's hard to see how a game could go wrong. Yet, in spite of its interesting premise, The Cameron Files - Secret of Loch Ness certainly leaves a lot to be desired. It's a confusing tale that gives players an compelling world to explore, but unfortunately it's all over way too quickly.
