Lilly & Sasha: Curse of the Immortals Review
By Chad Sapieha
The most important element of any RPG is narrative. Players spend hours reading dialogue, and if it's filled with typos, written by someone noticeably uncomfortable with English, or just plain boring, the experience can quickly become unbearable. Happily, this isn't a problem for the wonderfully witty Lilly & Sasha: Curse of the Immortals, a new game from independent RPG shop John Wizard.Blast RPG Review
By Erin Bell
Nitrome's Blast RPG comes from the tradition of Web time-waster where you fire something (in this case, a medieval knight) out of a cannon, after adjusting the angle and velocity of said cannon, with the goal of seeing how far it can travel before it skids to a stop. If Blast RPG were typical, things would end there. You would launch the knight again and again trying to get him further each time until you eventually got bored. But Blast RPG isn't typical: it's part role-playing game too! And the knight doesn't just sail passively through the air, he battles foes, grabs coins, uses items, and even levels up.HappyVille: Quest for Utopia Review
Think it's easy to start a new town and attract residents and businesses alike? Put your mayoral skills to the test with HappyVille: Quest for Utopia, a new city building sim from Gogii Games. While we like the tried-and-true premise -- plus it adds a personal touch by giving residents names and desires -- but frankly, the game feels unfinished because a handful of random issues that mar the overall experience. The Lost Cases of 221B Baker Street Review
Sherlock Holmes isn't just on the silver screen this month -- you can also catch Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictitious detective on the small screen, as well, thanks to Legacy Interactive's hidden-object game (HOG) The Lost Cases of 221B Baker Street (also known as The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes 2.)Millennium Secrets: Emerald Curse Review
There seems to be no shortage of capable, inquisitive female investigators out there, and now we can add Millennium Secrets' Kate to that list. Over the course of the game, the star of the latest hidden object/adventure hybrid from JetDogs Studios will be tasked with doing everything from hacking computers to re-wiring a security camera. Unfortunately, while Kate herself is an interesting new character, she seems to be stuck in a fairly generic, Indiana Jones style adventure.Heartwild Solitaire: Book Two Review
By Erin Bell
Like its predecessor, Heartwild Solitaire, Orchid Games' Heartwild Solitaire 2 combines the card game of solitaire with a racy, passionate story of lust and revenge. While the gameplay is largely unchanged from the first outing, it's the story -- with its multiple branches and endings -- that will keep you persevering through the sequel's 250+ levels.Alice in Wonderland Review
When people think of Alice in Wonderland, the first things that come to mind are a blond Alice in a blue dress, and a bright and fantastical Wonderland filled to the brink with glowing characters and oddities. In Merscom's latest adventure, however, Alice in Wonderland is a game that reflects a darker side of Wonderland where Alice herself, and many other girls, haven't just gone fantastically mad, but gone missing entirely.Cold Storage Review
By David Stone
The Yeti. The Abominable Snowman. Helper of Rudolph in the Christmas special classic. And now… gymnast?! Yep, there's nothing that cute, monstrous ball of white fur can't accomplish. In Cold Storage, he puts his mind to vaulting up caverns to save his friends. And he does it pretty well.
