Crossworlds: The Flying City Review
By Brandy Shaul
CrossWorlds: The Flying City is, at its best, your standard combination of hidden object and puzzle gameplay. At its worst, however, it is a game with muddy graphics, a horrible hint system, a very shallow and downright head-scratching story and an altogether far too difficult experience for what you get out of the game in return.Farm Frenzy: Ancient Rome Review
Not content with a staggering five spin-offs, Alawar has decided to release yet another Farm Frenzy 3 game. And yet again, it's simply more of the same. Farm Frenzy: Ancient Rome rehashes the same formula as the half dozen releases before it except with a new set of levels and a new setting. And it's not even an interesting setting.Virtual Villagers 5: New Believers Review
By Chad Sapieha
Captured! Virtual Villagers 5: New Believers, the fifth entry in the Last Day of Work's popular village simulation series, begins with the player's hand-picked quintet of brave explorers being ambushed and taken prisoner by masked natives while investigating the dense jungle at the heart of the island of Isola. Acting as their god, it's up to you to help them survive the strange new village in which they find themselves and, just maybe, convert their heathen captors into true believers along the way.Blue Madonna: A Carol Reed Mystery Review
Carol Reed is back. It's been nearly a year since the amateur sleuth's last adventure, Black Circle, but she's hot on the trail of a new mystery in Blue Madonna. The game maintains the series' trademarks, including a photographic visual style and action free gameplay. This makes the narrative a huge part of the appeal for the game, but, unfortunately, Blue Madonna fails when it comes to presenting an engaging story. It starts out interesting enough, but quickly reveals itself to be nothing more than a plodding fetch quest.Hydro Storm Review
If the movie Waterworld ever had a decent message to impart on the masses, it wasn't about the dangers of global warming. Instead, it was about how cool jet skis could be if someone decided to mount weaponry on them. Hydro Storm definitely believes in this message, though it's more than a little garbled in its delivery.Strange Attraction Review
Cute, colorful, and full of great ideas, Strange Attraction seems to have everything necessary to make a fun platform game. Except for the actual platforming bit. For all its charm and inventiveness, Strange Attraction is severely hampered by poor controls and floaty physics, not to mention a very short length. It's still worth a play, but it could have been so much better.Hodgepodge Hollow: A Potions Primer Review
By Erin Bell
A dragon has stolen some treasure belonging to the gnomes of Hodgepodge Hollow, and the little fellows aren't happy about it. They enlist your help to get the treasure back in Hodgepodge Hollow: A Potions Primer, a hidden object game that finds you hunting for ingredients to brew a dozen powerful potions. The Curse of the Ring Review
The worst thing that ever happened to me on vacation was that time in Jamaica when my camera got stolen. I thought it was pretty tragic, but I guess I shouldn't complain; when Isabel stops buy a curio shop on her trip to Barbados, she ends up saddled with a cursed ring that will suck the life right out of her if she doesn't track down a bunch of pirate treasures by the end of the week.
