Fated Haven: Chapter One Review
By Alicia Ashby
Fated Haven: Chapter One emphasizes over and over again during its tutorial that it's not like most other RPGs and players need to be careful. These instructions are ultimately quite confusing, because if you've ever played an indy RPG developed in RPG Maker XP, you've already played Fated Haven. Everything from its visuals to its gameplay and basic storyline are extremely derivative. That's not to say Fated Haven isn't any fun at all, it's just fun in a way that evokes fond nostalgia for a very specific period from gaming history.Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock Review
By Andy Chalk
Pop quiz, hotshot: what do vampires do? They suck, of course. And what does the new hidden object horror game Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock do? You guessed it: it sucks.Tales of Lagoona: Orphans of the Ocean Review
By Brandy Shaul
Tales of Lagoona: Orphans of the Ocean follows Islabelle, a mermaid with a single goal of preventing the run-down Coral Bay orphanage from being leveled and turned into an underwater shopping mall. You're there every step of the way to help Islabelle achieve that goal, as you sell the orphanage's many treasures to earn money for upgrades. With an in-depth, charming storyline and plenty of mini-game variety, Tales of Lagoona makes a splash in the hidden object space, even for its few faults.Silent Evil: Kate’s Rescue Review
If there was a seminar on how to make a bad hidden object game, it would go something like this: "Create a vague storyline with generic characters and put them in an indeterminate setting. Have one of them vanish. Move things along using no sound and bland, static images. Finish things up by alternating between poorly-executed hidden object sequences and boring, repetitious puzzles. I'm thinking the makers of Silent Evil: Kate's Rescue must have attended this seminar—heck, maybe they taught it.Jessica’s Bow Wow Bistro Review
By Darcie King
It's time for Jessica to leave her Cupcake Cafe behind her and set off on a new business venture, opening a bakery that caters to dogs. With the help of her Aunt Margaret and her loyal canine companion, Jessica is off and running and so are you.Nightmare Realm Review
By Andy Chalk
Nightmare Realm is an odd game. It looks like a fairly straightforward horror adventure, yet it's set primarily in a colorful, almost lighthearted fantasy world. And while it never even approaches the horrific, it's so thematically dark as to be one of the most disturbing adventures I've ever played - but also one of the most engaging , engrossing and outright entertaining.Puzzle Agent 2 Review
By Jim Squires
Telltale Games have become a big name in point and click adventures over the last few years, but in 2010 they decided to release something decidedly different from their mainstay formula. Puzzle Agent may have offered the great narrative and adventure framework that the company is known for, but the gameplay revolved not around collecting and using items, but solving logic puzzles. Now they've brought that formula back for a second go round with Puzzle Agent 2, a game that offers everything fans of the first could want in a sequel.Really Big Sky Review
By Mike Rose
Late last year, developer Boss Baddie released Big Sky into the wild, an initially confusing space shooter that, through progression, trial and error, showed its true, magnificent colours. While it was definitely something special, there was always that nagging feeling in the back of our minds that so much more could be done with it. Enter Really Big Sky, an expansion on the original concept that piles on the explosions, powers and extra game modes to maximum effect.
