Montopia Review
By Andy Chalk
Montopia, Zynga's long-awaited, Pokemon-"inspired" collectible card battle game, has finally arrived. It's not the worst game you'll ever play on your phone, but between bugs, sluggish, dull gameplay and an utter lack of originality, it isn't anywhere near the best, either.Mutant Mudds Review
By Dant Rambo
There's a pretty substantial disconnect between Mutant Mudds' vibrant appearance and its tough-as-nails gameplay. Or at least I didn't expect a game whose protagonist is a water gun-totin' kid named Max to be an unforgivingly difficult 2D platformer. My mistake, really. But it doesn't change the fact that it's a ton of fun. In fact, it's that very difficulty that makes it so much fun. Challenge junkies, this one's for you.Little Conquest Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Since I do this on a regular basis, I pride myself on having a pretty fair vocabulary. Still, I'm stuck for a word that means something like the next step up from "frenetic," and the fact that it's even a question should tell you a lot about Little Conquest, the debut game from Chilean studio BattleBit Games. Prepare to get a finger speed workout with this real time strategy game for your iPad or iPhone.Time Geeks & Friends Review
By Eli Cymet
Asynchronicity is the new black. Hero Academy, Draw Something, Song Pop, Outwitters; not since tennis have we seen this big a focus on the back-and-forth. Not all game types are created equal, though, and Time Geeks & Friends seems to test the limits by filtering hunt and find through the magical asynchronometer. If there's one thing I know, however, it's that asyncrhonometer is not a word. Oh, and also? This idea works pretty well.Critter Crunch Review
By Dant Rambo
Capybara Games hit it big with 2011's Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. It was - and continues to be - praised as one of the greatest games in the smartphone market, courtesy of its surreal storyline and clever adaptation of classic adventure gaming. But well before Capybara introduced us to the antics of Logfella, they invited us into the deceptively cute world of Critter Crunch for iOS. It's been removed from the App Store for reasons unknown, but worry not: it's now available on Steam.Offworld Review
By Tony Capri
6waves gets back to doing what it is they seem to do best, with yet one more freemium adventure landing on the App Store. Unfortunately, they've taken a game with solid gameplay design and oodles of great ideas and held it hostage within a grindy mechanism that sucks out most of the fun from the experience.Little Masters Review
It seems that the longer Nintendo refuses to port a Pokémon game to iOS, the closer other companies are getting to finally bringing a successful monster capture franchise to the world's most popular pocket devices - mobile platforms. Facebook's Outernauts was the first game I've played to truly feel like a genuine monster capture game that worked, but I've still been hard-pressed to find a quality mobile experience.Motor World Car Factory Review
By Eli Cymet
At first glance, you'd think a game like Motor World Car Factory was about a happy, utopian society in which everyone was devoted to the art and business of making excellent vehicles, as opposed to being a dystopian horror chronicling the rise of cars into sentient beings that processed humans for food in huge warehouses. And you'd most definitely be right about that.
