Pocket Fishdom Review
By Nadia Oxford
Pocket Fishdom is not to be confused with Fishdom, another game available on iOS (and a number of other platforms). Even though both games are spawned from Playrix, they belong in different tanks: Fishdom is a Match-3 title, whereas Pocket Fishdom is about raising, breeding, and collecting your aquatic darlings. In fact, Pocket Fishdom is quite far removed from anything that resembles gameplay, though it's still a decent and relaxing fish-breeding title.Prime’s Quest Review
The sliding block puzzle does not mess around. It's a no-nonsense, stick-to-the-formula kind of genre that is rarely seen gallivanting with other game types. Unlike the permanent identity crisis of match-3 games, sliding puzzles know who they are and what they want: move the blocks, get the highlighted block to the goal, home in time for dinner. Prime's Quest is here to change that, and cause worlds to collide. Sliding block puzzle, meet adventure game.Rivals at War Review
By Rob Rich
The industry is full of modern military shooters of both the first and third-person variety. With so many choices available it can be hard, even for an iOS title, to stand out but turning a military shooter into a collectible card game is certainly one way to go about it. Rivals at War is essentially like playing a Big Win Sports game with guns instead of goals, which turns out to be a fantastic combination.Jones On Fire Review
Gamers have received a lot of imperatives over the years: the empire is evil and must be stopped, this threat to the galaxy needs to be obliterated, shoot everything that moves. But none is so simple, so noble, as Jones on Fire's single sentence tagline: "Kitties are cute and should be saved."Nightmerica Review
Nightmerica is a jovial celebration of the macabre, from its ominous title music to its gruesome pixelated deaths. It's clumsy in many ways, but it's also jagged, gritty, and a retro love letter in all the right ways. The killer soundtrack helps a lot, but it's also rocking an intriguing look that just feels right.Block Fortress Review
By Alex De Vore
Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft! It seems like that's just about all gamers can talk about anymore. OK, that's not true, but the game of collectin' and buildin' did seem to become an interactive missing link of sorts. Suddenly, even the most casual gamer had a reason to cross the divide from casual to legitimate challenge…y'know, a more deep and rewarding experience. Thus, it was only a matter of time before somebody came along and took the concept in different directions.Temple Run: Oz Review
The Temple Run series has been a runaway success, with Temple Run 2 being downloaded over twenty million times in its first four days of availability. It's no surprise then that there are pretenders to the throne. Pitfall, an ancestor without which Temple Run would never have existed, and even Sonic the Hedgehog have gotten into the third-person endless runner act.I, Gladiator Review
By Nick Tylwalk
It never fails. I mean, you're trying to do your job as a gladiator, staying alive, entertaining the people, and then the gods have to go and get involved. I think we've all been there, but in case you haven't, I, Gladiator lets you hack and slash your way to glory on your iPhone or iPad. And if you're good enough, those pesky gods might even stay out of your business for a bit.
