Final Cut: Encore Review
A year ago Eipix Entertainment brought us Final Cut: Death on the Silver Screen, one of the most carefully-made, best-looking hidden object adventures of 2012. This month, the company brings us Final Cut: Encore, a sequel that easily equals the first game in creativity and craftsmanship. Encore is fantastically entertaining, and is an object lesson in great adventure game-making.Tiny Thief Review
By Joe Jasko
How deep are your pockets? Hopefully deep enough to hide all the little toys and trinkets you'll have snagged by the end of this game! Tiny Thief is the second title published by Rovio Stars, after last month's exciting Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage, and the quality in execution has magnified by tenfold. In many ways, Tiny Thief could very well be the first point-and-click adventure and stealth hybrid that has the potential to reach App Store Essential status, alongside mobile staples like Cut the Rope and Where's My Water? And thankfully, the gameplay and presentation are just as superb.CrossMyWord Review
By Nadia Oxford
If you enjoy solving crossword puzzles, then you already know that doing so is a bit of a lonely pursuit. It's usually just you, your smartphone or your magazine, your pencil (or your pen, if you're confident), and a swaying mass of commuters that may as well exist in another world while you match wits with your puzzles. CrossMyWord aims to bring a "With Friends" vibe to crossword puzzles by letting you solve and create puzzles with other players. There are some interesting ideas at work here, but the lack of polish will probably drive crossword fans back to their solitude.City Cat Review
By Alex De Vore
Russian developer Nevosoft (Million Dollar Quest, My Kingdom for the Princess 2) has taken the increasingly popular endless-runner genre and infused it with a healthy dose of 8-bit charm and adorable kitten action in the newly released City Cat. This new title finds its hero in a cute li'l cat named Pixel whose food has been cruelly stolen by a heartless gang of aliens. In order to reclaim his fridge full of goodies, he must now traipse across the globe's most beautiful and iconic cities dodging obstacles, picking up dropped foodstuffs, gathering coins, and upgrading his unique arsenal of powers.Deus Ex: The Fall Review
Like others, I was flabbergasted when Square Enix announced its new Deus Ex game would be on iOS. In the minds of many, the announcement was further proof that Square was completely out of touch with what its community wants. I initially agreed with that sentiment, but after playing Deus Ex: The Fall, I not only believe Square made the right move, but set the bar high for future first-person mobile titles.Pacific Rim Review
By David Oxford
Pacific Rim is based on the hot new movie which is garnering praise from its showings in theaters all across North America. Some are calling the movie a fresh experience, as it's not quite like anything to come out of American cinema before - at least, not since the closest thing in the climax of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie about two decades ago, and to be quite honest, the computer-generated graphics in that just haven't held up nearly as well. Either way, the movie manages to be different, unique in its own way. The game, however? Not so much.Baseball Slam Review
By Rob Rich
One of the things I love most about video games is just how bizarre they can get. One day I might be the wind blowing flower petals around, another I'm a zombie-slaying samurai, and another I'm an interstellar bounty hunter who was raised by alien bird people. But when I play Baseball Slam, I'm a regular old baseball player. One who was shrunk down and tossed inside a pinball machine, apparently. The Few Review
By Matt Thrower
The Battle of Britain is a thrilling slice of history. An overworked and understaffed Royal Air Force trying desperately to resist the invading Germans and succeeding just, only just, thanks to bravery, stubbornness, and superior engineering. So it's surprising that there aren't more games about it. But here's a new one from Black Moon Design: The Few.
