The intrepid star of the Strange Cases series is always on the hunt and in Strange Cases: The Secrets of Grey Mist Lake, even her vacation turns into an investigation. On the road with her hubby Sam, Claire's involved in a car accident (Ahem...do we really need another story that starts with a car crash? Just sayin'.) that gives her a bump on the head and makes her husband disappear.

    Reviewing a Kairosoft game at this point really means comparing and contrasting it to the multitude of other games they've released. It's kinda like this one, straying from the formula of that one. Yadda Yadda. Spoiler Alert: That trend will continue in this review. The good news is that Oh! Edo Towns, while sadly closer to the Kairosoft titles I didn't like, has made some good changes to start bringing me around.

    Most mornings I have a routine. While I wait for my coffee to brew I pop into Trade Nations on my phone and collect some rent and maybe build some new businesses. When I sit down to drink my coffee, preferably with some sort of unhealthy baked good to go with it, I check in on my sim in The Sims Social and do a bit of exploring in Ravenskye City. If it's not a particularly busy day I might even squeeze in a game of Triple Town before tackling my daily mountain of email. But it wasn't always that way. I used to play CityVille every morning. I used to check on my DragonVale dragons while letting the coffee brew. But as new games come out I'm forced to make a decision. There's only so much time in a day and in order to play a new social game I need to drop something else.

    I feel like I have a weird relationship with boxing (beyond the fact that it's completely one-way - boxing doesn't care about me in the slightest). I really couldn't care less about the sport, yet I absolutely love movies about boxing, and even boxing video games. There's a total disconnect between actively watching the sport and taking part in the other forms of media that are based on it. Perhaps what it needs is to present the personalities as action heroes in thrilling adventures with a heavy dose of martial arts films inspiration. Wait... what?

    The whole idea of a Tolkien-inspired fantasy world is pretty ridiculous, no? I mean, obviously it's ridiculous, that's why it's called "fantasy". It's not supposed to be real. A lot of great stories and games have come from there, things that I love dearly, but I do wish more people took a stab at mocking it or having their character be self-aware in some way. I'm thinking the upcming iOS game Evertales might just fit the bill.

    In real life, the business you can build and grow in Fantasy Safari would be an amazing place to go. After all, who wouldn't want to visit a safari full of all sorts of magical creatures, from unicorns and dragons to a genie that looks ripped straight out of Aladdin? It'd be pretty awesome. Unfortunately, as great as the premise sounds, the reality of Fantasy Safari is that it's a pretty standard social zoo management-style game that swaps out tigers and lions for pixies and three-headed hounds.

    Simple games are abundant on the iOS platform, but sometimes they just seem too simple. Should they become deeper and more challenging as time goes on, many wait far too long to do so, and boredom sets in. Chicken Rescue is a new game from Ayopa Games that is one such example of this. Best described as a platforming-collection type of game, players attempt to find and rescue their chicks, whilst achieving as high a score as possible.
