Interview: Triple Town’s voyage from Kindle to Facebook
Triple Town was one of the few games to launch on Amazon's Kindle eReader, but more recently the match-3 game has been making waves on social networks, with more than 150,000 people playing the Facebook version of the game. With the burgeoning success of the game, as well as a number of other projects currently under way, the development duo at Spry Fox is clearly rather busy. But Spry Fox's David Edery took some time out to talk to Gamezebo about the company and how Triple Town will continue to grow in the future.Triple Town to expand into “Triple Town World,” get mobile versions
The match-3 hit Triple Town has had a strange life, starting out on the Amazon Kindle eReader before moving on to social networks like Facebook and Google+. Now developer Spry Fox has revealed that Triple Town will be expanded significantly in the future, and that a mobile version of the game is very likely coming as well.Monday Morning Quarterback: the social game sequel problem
Mafia Wars 2 and Ravenskye City are two different answers to the same problem: how do you follow up a successful social network game? There are any number of choices. You could keep pumping the game full of new content, you could create large-scale expansions, or you could launch all-new sequels or spin-offs. But which choice is the best?Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, Developer Diary #1
Hello fellow Gamezebo readers. I'm Tomas Rawlings, the designer of the new upcoming Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land. Some readers may remember me from the series on how to start your own game studio I wrote for Gamezebo a few months ago, but today I'm here to chat about a game we've been working really hard on now for almost a year, and we're approaching completion. Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a role-playing/strategy game set in the midst of the First World War. It is based on the classic and multi-award winning paper role playing game of the same name, which coincidently this year, celebrated its 30th anniversary.Funkitron’s Dave Walls on the benefits of being platform agnostic
By Jim Squires
The casual games marketplace can be a harsh mistress. It's all too often that we hear about a developer leaving the PC market behind for greener pastures, or worse yet, shutting their doors all together. The fact is that it's just harder to make profitable games in the current climate. Despite this fretful trend, though, some developers are still seeing great success. Take Funkitron for example - a developer that's still putting out top notch casual titles without fail. We recently had a chat with Funkitron's President Dave Walls about the company's continued success, passion for originality, and their desire to put games in front of gamers regardless of device. If Angry Birds were real, they’d look a little something like this…

If there's one thing the internet seems to have a never-ending supply of, it's creative people. That's one of those tiny facts that always manages to put a smile on my face whenever I think about this little human race of ours. One of those creative people on the internet is named Mohamed Raoof, and he's modified some pictures of real world birds to give us a glimpse of what the cast of Angry Birds might look like in real life.Grand Theft Auto III coming to iOS and Android, but only the newest devices
By Jim Squires
If, like us, you felt that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 were just incremental updates not worth the price of admission, you might want to think again. Rockstar Games have just announced that Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Anniversary Edition is destined for touch screen devices - but only the newest of the new. iOS gamers will need to own something that sports the A5 chip, and Android gamers will only be able to play on the Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, and Samsung Galaxy S2 (or if you're on an Android tablet, an Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom, or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1).Gamezebo Cribs: Social Game Universe edition
Social Game Universe may have only released a handful of Facebook games so far, including the recently launched Dirty Dancing, but the company has been around for quite some time, though under a different name. Originally founded as Bitcasters back in 1996, the company not only made games, but also music videos, albums, and even books. Now SGU is focused on social games, and we decided to head on over to their downtown Toronto offices to check out where those games get made in the latest edition of Gamezebo Cribs.
