Adobe kills mobile Flash Player – is this the beginning of the end?
By Jim Squires
As anyone who has ever used the internet will tell you, Flash has been a pretty big deal. In fact, it seems fairly safe to say that Adobe Flash (or as it was known prior to 2005, Macromedia Flash) single-handedly made things like videos, animations, and browser-based gaming on the internet possible - or at the very least, accessible. When Steve Jobs (may he rest in peace) proclaimed that HTML5 would win out over Flash in the end, the very notion seemed laughable. Now however, it seems as though Jobs is having the last laugh.Interview: magic, dragons, and technology combine in Dragon Craft
With Dragon Craft ngmoco is delving into the world of mobile strategy games, offering players the chance to take on the role of an up-and-coming dragon baron in a world filled with magic, technology, and of course dragons. It looks to be a deep experience but also one that can be enjoyed in short sessions, making it a potentially great fit for a mobile phone. Gamezebo recently had the chance to speak with producer Kevin O'Neil about Dragon Craft to learn a bit more about the game and the world it takes place in.Interview: ngmoco aims to create a native mobile RPG with SkyFall
Arguably best known for iOS games like We Rule and the Touch Pets series, ngmoco is going in a different direction with two of its upcoming releases, including the online role playing game SkyFall. Not only is the game debuting on Android before iOS, but it's also much more in-depth than past games. The developer is hoping to make the first deep RPG experience that feels native to a mobile device. We had a chance to speak with with executive producer Chris Plummer about the game, delving deep into the fictional universe and learning just what makes SkyFall different from other mobile RPGs.Monday Morning Quarterback: Keeping up with social games
Most mornings I have a routine. While I wait for my coffee to brew I pop into Trade Nations on my phone and collect some rent and maybe build some new businesses. When I sit down to drink my coffee, preferably with some sort of unhealthy baked good to go with it, I check in on my sim in The Sims Social and do a bit of exploring in Ravenskye City. If it's not a particularly busy day I might even squeeze in a game of Triple Town before tackling my daily mountain of email. But it wasn't always that way. I used to play CityVille every morning. I used to check on my DragonVale dragons while letting the coffee brew. But as new games come out I'm forced to make a decision. There's only so much time in a day and in order to play a new social game I need to drop something else.Zoo Tycoon vets form social + mobile studio Beach Cooler Games

By Jim Squires
We all knew that Angry Birds has turned into some kind of unstoppable pop culture machine, but sometimes it's easy to forget how big that machine really is. Rovio reminded us this morning, when CEO Peter Vesterbacka announced at a conference in Helisinki that their little birdy game has now surpassed 500 million downloads. 500. MILLION.GREE plans new mobile social gaming platform for 2012
By Jim Squires
File this one under "should've seen it coming." Earlier this year, GREE acquired Openfeint for $104 million. Well surprise surprise - this newly formed international superteam have just announced the creation of a new worldwide mobile social gaming platform for 2012.
