Minecraft – Pocket Edition to get a massive update February 8th
Minecraft - Pocket Edition was a long time coming to mobile devices. But when it finally arrived, it wasn't really what people wanted, including a general lack of content and being saddled with limitations thanks to said devices' hardware. Despite this, developer Mojang promised lots of stuff with updates and then … nothing. There's been a lot of silence from that end about when folks could expect the patch, but Mojang's finally announced a definite date.Monday Morning Quarterback: What Louis CK can teach us about selling games
By Joel Brodie
In December, Louis CK (my favorite comedian right now, if you have never watched the TV show Louie, do it!), announced that he was going to break all rules for selling videos online and do his own thing.Against the better judgment of his friends and colleagues, he decided to produce his own video, sell it on his own web site at a fair price point of $5, and make it DRM-free (so once you buy it you own it).The result? Over $1 million in sales in just two weeks. What does this little digital distribution experiment mean for games? In my opinion, a whole lot!The week in gaming news: January 6, 2012 edition
As you can probably imagine, the first week of 2012 was a little on the slow side. While a number of notable games launched -- including the likes of Hidden Chronicles and Scramble With Friends -- things were quiet when it comes to gaming news, so this week's round-up is a little shorter than usual. As we wait for the games industry to pick up steam, here's all the news from this past week for you to catch up with.Gamezebo Cribs: Nordeus edition
It's 2012, and we're kicking off a new year of Gamezebo Cribs by heading to Belgrade, Serbia to see the offices of game developer Nordeus. While the studio has only released one game so far, it's one that we just can't stop playing. Top Eleven is currently the top sports game on Facebook, and thanks to the release of apps on both Android and iOS it's easier to play than ever. Let's check out where the soccer management addiction is made.Kickstarter Picks: Organ Trail
By Jim Squires
Everybody knows The Oregon Trail. If you didn't play it in a classroom in the 1980's, you've no doubt seen it since on the App Store, Facebook, or in some popular meme about dying on dysentery. But let's face facts - surviving the harsh pioneering journey to the west? That's dead people problems. But surviving a zombie apocalypse? Well… I suppose that's dead people problems too.Games of the Month – December 2011
If you're a fan of our Game of the Month segments, there's a pretty good chance that you went crazy for our coverage in December. All last month we posted list after list of the best games that 2011 had to offer - so much so that we almost forgot about all of the great games that came out at the end of the year! Don't worry though - it may be a little late, but Gamezebo's look back at the top games of December 2011 was well worth the wait!Monday Morning Quarterback: Forget freemium, it’s all about gambling in 2012!
By Joel Brodie
Internet gambling (and perhaps gaming companies) got a huge present from Santa over the Christmas weekend, in the form of a Justice Department ruling that may open the door to legalizing Internet gambling. The Justice Department issued a legal opinion that the Wire Act of 1961, prohibiting wagering on telecommunication systems that cross state and national borders, does not apply to states selling lottery tickets to its citizens to adults within its own borders. Internet gambling is not yet legal, but the door is open. If you don't think this has an impact on the world on online and social gaming, then you're betting on the wrong horse.Games of the Year 2011
