Just as the average Farmville junkie will stop at nothing to acquire the largest plot of land that they can, social games supergiant Zynga is only looking to expand their already enormous company. According to a report by Bloomberg, Zynga's merger chief Barry Cottle is planning to step up the pace of acquisitions. It looks like that lucrative $200 million dollar deal for OMGPOP was only the beginning.Shigeru Miyamoto praises Rovio’s Angry Birds

Consumers bought a title, such as Super Mario Bros., gleefully cracked it open and played it until they couldn't bear another jaunt through the super mushroom kingdom. More than just a case of fungus overload, the game, played repeatedly until there were no more challenges to master, soon would become a tired title eclipsed by the latest gaming sensation.Kickstarter Picks: Super Fun Time
By Nadia Oxford
Are you familiar with microgame collections? A microgame is a bit like a basic action/arcade experience, except the developer force-feeds it a lot of sugar, jams the pacing up to 400 RPMs, and breaks off the gearshift. A microgame collection corrals several dozen of these tiny games into one package, and then wraps them around a basic concept that lets you experience said games for a few frantic seconds at a time. Microgames found a lot of success on Nintendo's systems thanks to the WarioWare titles, but they've never found much of an audience on iOS or Android. Spiffy Games hopes to change that with its Super Fun Time Kickstarter.Weekly News Roundup: April 6, 2012
