After Angry Birds proved that cute and cuddly video game characters could be just as cute and cuddly in real life, every notable developer seemed to jump into the plush toy market. You can buy Cut the Rope stuffies, fluffy Fruit Ninja figures - the list goes on and on. But what about well-loved indie games? Could they break out of their digital prisons too?
Angry Birds Seasons updates with annual Christmas content
I know, I know. A Christmas update to Angry Birds Seasons was pretty much inevitable. But don't let that put a damper on your excitement! Players can expect 25 new levels throughout the month—one a day until we finally reach Christmas. As developer Rovio puts it in the update in the App Store description, the birds have found themselves in a "Winter Wonderham." Having written an amount of bad puns that likely nears the quadruple digits, I feel qualified to say that's one of the best-worst ones you'll ever see.

If you love the holiday season as much as we do, then you'll be happy to know that Nimblebit has just pushed live a Christmas-y update to Tiny Tower. There's festive music, Santas and elves, apartments filled with Christmas trees and wreaths, and all sorts of other merry surprises.Zynga quietly releases new Sims-style game, Party Place
Between lawsuits, studio closings, layoffs, and a rocky relationship with Facebook, Zynga has had a rough year. But the recent release of a new and original game shows the company isn't ready to call it quits just yet. Party Place is a social game for mobile that allows you to create, customize and share your own party house, then invite friends over for a raging all-night blowout. It sports the tagline "fight and make-out with your friends", so even if you're not much of a party animal, you have to admit to at least a touch of curiosity.
Best Puzzle Games of 2012
The best part about the current state of the game industry—well, aside from all of the great games—is how impossible it is to predict where things are headed. Will there be another generation of consoles after the next Xbox and PS3 (PS4, I guess you could say)? Will tablets take their place? We can guess all we want, but no one truly knows. It's something of a puzzle, I suppose you could say.
Games of the Month – November 2012
November was yet another hallmark month for releases and, as is typical of this time of year, we didn't have the easiest time deciding on which ones would make the cut. It's kind of like when you're trying to eat as much as you can on Thanksgiving, but only have a finite amount of space on your plate to work with. We're still within the window where Thanksgiving references are acceptable, right?
