Zynga shuts down several titles, intends to shut down more in the future
Even the biggest juggernauts can spread themselves too thin. Zynga has followed through on their past announcements of game closures, with six games now shut down entirely, four removed from the App Store, and one being put to pasture on January 14th. Grim as it may sound, this is all being done in an attempt to get the company back on track.

With a brand new year of (hopefully) great games kicking off tomorrow, we thought we'd end 2012 with a bang. Sure we've spent all of December looking at the best games of 2012 in their respective categories, but what about the very best? What about the games that rise above genre and platform to be counted among the elite? Which one game managed to earn the coveted title of Gamezebo's Game of the Year?

The holidays are always the best time of year for video games. There are tons of releases, and excess downtime to spend playing them. Personally, I managed to make my way through a pretty decent chunk of my backlog, and even check out some games I wouldn't have had time for otherwise. Good news, OUYA fans! The Android-based console and Kickstarter darling looks to be right on track. 1,200 developer consoles have just shipped, meaning its creators have honored the release window that was laid out in the original campaign. In the midst of all these Kickstarter fears and concerns, it's nice to see a product that's coming along without any sort of visible snags or delays.
