Humble Bundle for Android launches, also playable on desktops
By Jim Squires
Bundles seem to be the lifeblood of the indie scene lately, with things like Indie Royale and The Humble Indie Bundle introducing gamers to great collections of games at less than rock bottom prices. Now the makers of the latter have turned their eyes towards the mobile scene, and have today unveiled the Humble Bundle for Android.Games of the Month – January 2012
If you've been following along with our coverage at home, you already know that it's been a pretty great month for games. But which of the dozens upon dozens of games that we've covered has really stood out? Which games went above and beyond to stand head and shoulders above the rest? Which games were special enough to earn the title of Gamezebo's Game of the Month?Rovio treats piracy like free marketing
By Jim Squires
There's been an interesting tidbit floating around the internet over the last 24 hours that stems from a talk Rovio CEO Mikael Hed gave at the Midem conference in Cannes. When discussing piracy, Hed took a stance you don't often hear from his side of the industry; "Piracy may not be a bad thing: it can get us more business at the end of the day."Monday Morning Quarterback: How to fix copying and plagiarism in games
By Joel Brodie
Another week, another lawsuit. Yesterday, Spry Fox, the developers of the social game Triple Town, sued 6Waves for copy infringement, accusing the latter of copying their game with the release of Yeti Town on the iPhone. Last week, Nimblebit accused Zynga of copying their game Tiny Tower with the release of Dream Heights in the Canadian iTunes Store. Today Buffalo Studios just did the same about Bingo Blitz and Zynga Bingo. And in December, Zynga and Vostu settled a lawsuit whereby Zynga has sued Vostu for copying its game CityVille which Vostu counter-sued, claiming the pot-calling-the-kettle-black defense (that Zynga's game was a copy of other games). With so much outright copying and downright plagiarizing going in the world of games today, I would like to submit a Modest Proposal to solve the problem once and for all.Pixeljunk Eden is coming to PC next week
By Jim Squires
If you're a PlayStation 3 owner, there's a pretty good chance that you've long ago realized that Pixeljunk always equals genius. For years now, the Q-Games series of innovative and wonderfully fresh indie games has remained exclusively available on the PlayStation Network. That seemed to change earlier this year when Pixeljunk Monsters, a great tower defense experience, was announced as coming to Facebook. Now it looks like another Pixeljunk title is about to leap from the PS3 to your desktops. The week in gaming news: January 27, 2012

By Jim Squires
GOG.com might be looking to shed its "good old games" moniker as it ramps up to start featuring exclusive game releases in the coming year, but that doesn't mean PC classics won't still be showing up on their service. Case in point, GOG has just signed a deal with Square Enix to bring some of its massive back catalog to their digital storefront.11 new publishers sign up for EA’s Origin
By Jim Squires
When Electronic Arts launched their Origin platform last year, it was definitely an interesting development - but since that time, the platform seems to have stagnated. Sure it's great if you're into The Old Republic or any of EA's "Play4Free" titles, but if you want to experience anything outside of the EA world, you typically still had to go somewhere else. Lucky for EA, this trend is finally changing.
