Welcome to another Friday, where everything old is new again. This week in gaming news brought with it some hope for an injection of life into ancient properties like Baldur's Gate. Also in the news: cats are taking up gaming, Diablo III finally gets a release date, and hey, what's this about a potential Elder Scrolls MMOG?
Rumor: Elder Scrolls MMO to be announced in May 2012
It's not a big surprise to learn that Bethesda is at work on a massively multiplayer online game (MMO/MMOG). What is a little surprising is the news that said game will reportedly be based on Elder Scrolls as opposed to the more obvious choice, the Fallout universe.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition coming this summer
It's been a good year for the resurrection (and potential resurrection) of old game IP's. Following the news about the high-profile Kickstarter campaign that will hopefully end with a sequel to the old PC RPG Wasteland, we've also learned that an "enhanced version" of Baldur's Gate is coming this summer.

There's a good chance that if you're into the mobile and social games space then you've at least once visited Kongregate, the online gaming portal now owned by GameStop. Yes, I just made that term up. Actually, the biggest buzzwords from walking the halls of the Game Developer Conference (GDC) are freemium and free-to-play ("f2p") which apparently are two technically different terms but to me mean the exact same thing. Every company plans to release games that are free to play to start, but encourage purchases to keep playing. Some vocal players may gripe, but they are in the minority since games are making a lot more money with freemium than any other model out there.
