New World of Tanks update adds competitive Team Battle mode
By Joe Jasko
Ready your war machines, Private, because Wargaming's World of Tanks is getting a new content update in the near future: and this one's gonna be a doozy. The highly anticipated Update 8.9 will be introducing a brand new game mode into World of Tanks called Team Battle, which is gearing up to bring a whole new competitive side to the popular tank MMO. Much like the game's beloved Tank Companies scenario, the new Team Battle mode will let players choose between joining a pre-existing team and creating their own before heading off into the thick of the battle. Each of the standard PvP battles will last up to 10 minutes' time, as each 7-player team faces off against their opponents in a battle of wits and artillery (teams of 5 to 6 players will also be allowed to participate, although short-ended teams will be deducted 1 point for each absent member below the maximum of 7). The use of smaller teams in the Team Battle mode are said to bring a whole new dynamic for strategic maneuvers, and Wargaming says the key feature about the upcoming game mode is that all battle matchups will be made entirely dependent on a team's own level of skill. This allows Team Battle to be easily accessible to both beginner and veteran World of Tanks players around the world."In addition to the exciting new Team Battle game mode, the 8.9 update to World of Tanks will also introduce a brand new line of German Tank Destroyers into the fold, not to mention a new North American battle arena and Encounter battle mode for the Erlenberg. Ranging from Tier 4 to Tier 10 vehicles, the additional line of tanks will encompass everything from the Marder III and the Soviet Y-34, to the Nashorn and Waffentrager auf Pz.IV. So in other words, there's going to be a lot of explosive new ways for you to blow those opposing teams straight off of the battlefield! The free 8.9 update to World of Tanks that will usher in these new additions to the game is said to be arriving sometime soon.Replay Wednesdays: Clash of Clans, Shadowrun Returns and more!

By Joe Jasko
Now that September has finally reached its timely close, we're really getting into the heart of fall right now, and changing leaves and pumpkin carving are only a few short weeks away! Some of my fondest video game memories took place during the fall, like coming home directly from school to sit in front of my TV and play video games, or just staying home from school altogether to sit in front of my TV and play video games. There were a lot of amazing new releases this month that truly worked wonders towards making it a September to remember in the video game world: from whimsical point-and-click adventures that took players to all ends of fantastical new worlds; to exhilarating action games that pushed the limits of what mobile games could really be capable of; and to just all-around good browser-based fun that had us battling cards with our older brother Gary and dropping a few pretend coins on our favorite virtual slot machines. Have any guesses as to what those games might be? Well keep on reading to see Gamezebo's top games of the month for September 2013!"Hands-on with Adventure Park
By Andy Chalk
Roller coasters and cost management analysis may not exactly go together like cookies and cream, but Adventure Park promises to blend these disparate disciplines into a sprawling, detailed theme park simulator that lets you control everything from the cost of admission to the G-forces generated by your rides - all in the name of generating excitement for your customers and a profit for yourself.I was advised to play through (and actually pay attention to) the tutorial before leaping into the action in Adventure Park, and it's fortunate that I did, because the game actually has quite a bit going on, and failure to pay attention to the details can be costly. I began the first of five different scenarios with an under-developed island, purchased on the cheap from a park operator looking to get out of the business. The bare-bones basics of the park - an entrance gate, a broken-down ride, and some paths - were already in place, but I was never going to get rich with those. Thus, step one: hire some people to clean it up and get things working."Hiring employees offers the first hint that you'll be doing more in this game than just placing rides and rolling in the dough. Gardeners and cleaners are straightforward enough, but there are five levels of technicians, and more complex equipment requires more highly-trained repairmen. Each worker can be placed in a specific location, and then relocated if it becomes necessary; they also have specific work areas that you can expand or shrink as you see fit.PopCap releases RISK: Plants vs. Zombies Collector’s Edition board game
By Joe Jasko
We've been hearing a few low-key rumblings about an official Plants vs. Zombies board game for quite some time now, and it looks like all that waiting has finally paid off this morning! In partnership with Hasbro, Inc., renowned game developer PopCap has pulled the lid off a PvZ-skinned version of the classic world domination board game RISK, and has made the wonderful blend of franchises available for purchase right at this very moment. The double-sided game board should be immediately familiar to fans of the popular "plant defense" series of video games, with one side depicting the all-new town of Brainsborough (which looks like something taken straight out of Plants vs. Zombies Adventures), and the other side reserved for an iconic PvZ backyard scene. The two-player game will also offer three different ways to compete in head-to-head matches, including Tower Defense, Mission Objective, and Total Domination.Free Games and Sales: Star Command, VVVVVV and more!

If a new game bundle pops up somewhere on the internet, and there's no one there to see it, is it still all sorts of discounted awesomeness? Why that's a silly question, of course it is! And the good thing about the internet these days is that even if a great new gaming sale or bundle sneaks its way into existence without a sound, then it usually isn't long before someone finds it and spreads the love to all ends of our humble cyber community.Which is why I'm sitting here writing this to you today: because there are a ton of great gaming sales and bundles going on this very moment, and it's my job to hit you with some knowledge to help my fellow gamers out! So this weekend, Android users will be able to snag a pretty wonderful new bundle at a next-to-nothing cost, while some big games over in the iOS camp are also enjoying some much welcomed price cuts. And don't even get me started on the many indie PC and Mac deals that have entered the fold as well!"But as always, what good is a gaming deal if there's no one around to buy it? So if there's anything I might have missed in my search throughout the internet this week, don't hesitate to bring us up to speed in the replies below!Multiple Steam machines coming in 2014
By Joe Jasko
On Monday we told you that Valve would be dishing out its very own operating system called SteamOS, with the promise of being able to run on any "living room machine." Well now we finally have some sort of idea as to what those mysterious living room machines will be, as Valve shed some light today on the proverbial "Steam Box." And as it turns out, it looks like we'll have multiple Steam boxes to look forward to in the New Year. There will reportedly be several different models of Steam gaming machines to choose from, and if the artwork on the official announcement page is anything to go by, then it looks like you'll have your choice from a variety of different colored and rectangular-shaped hardware. There's no word yet on what kinds of specific factors will differentiate the various models of the Steam machine, other than being made by different manufacturers, but Valve promises more information on this very soon (as well as a screenshot of what the actual prototype will look like in person!)."All of the upcoming Steam machine models will be running on the new SteamOS operating system once they're released to the masses sometime in 2014. However, there's also a chance that you could be one of the very lucky few who will be chosen to test out a new Steam box as early as this year! Valve will be shipping out a limited run of 300 free Steam boxes before 2013 is over, so players have a chance to test it out and provide Valve with valuable feedback about the new system, as well as SteamOS.Replay Wednesdays: Solstice Arena, Greedy Grub and more!
