Reflexive Entertainment put rumors to rest by confirming today that the company is being acquired by e-commerce juggernaut Amazon.com.

In a message sent to members of the company’s affiliate program, Reflexive Entertainment CEO Lars Brubaker said that the acquisition would allow Reflexive to expand its distribution network to include Amazon’s huge customer base.

"At Reflexive we have always prided ourselves on maintaining good relationships with everyone in the industry, and are excited that Amazon shares that philosophy," Brubaker said. "We intend to provide the best distribution platform anywhere, and to continue working openly with all the participants of the casual games space. Together it is our priority to continue this inclusive attitude going forward."

More information is still to come, but Brubaker said that it was time for developers to "get excited" about their future with Reflexive.

"We look forward to continuing our commitment to offering a broad selection of casual games for customers and to providing the best support to all our partners," Brubaker continued. "We are unbelievably excited to continue working to enhance the online casual gaming experience, for both gamers and game developers."

Founded in 1997, Reflexive Entertainment is a game developer and publisher whose games include Wik and the Fable of Souls, Big Kahuna Reef, Airport Mania, The Great Tree, Build-in-Time, Music Catch and the Ricochet series. Through its online distribution portal, Reflexive Arcade, the company offers PC and Mac game downloads and free Web games.
