    Ayakashi: Ghost Guild is a card battling game that's heavily influenced by Japanese myth—in other words, it's not something you would have expected to see from publishing giant Zynga even a year ago. On one hand, it's good to see that Zynga is trying new things on top of (finally) getting serious about mobile games. On the other hand, Zynga needs to make a greater effort because Ayakashi is not very exciting.

    Zynga made its name with some twists. In the case of its biggest hits, this often meant just twisting the name of an existing game or tweaking a gameplay element to make a new product out of something that came before. The ailing powerhouse in social and mobile gaming platforms has since expanded to a stable of published content, much of which offers more outside-the-box play. Isn't that a twist.

    If you're a twenty- or- thirty-something, then you've probably played Breakout. In fact, there's no way that you haven't played Breakout. The game was an arcade hit even before it was ported to every game console and computer known to humankind through the late '70s and early '80s. Heck, you can even go ahead and count yourself as a Breakout player if you fiddled with Brickles for your Mac Plus. We won't tell. Just make sure you're ready to go in a new direction with the classic formula when you first fire up Super Bunny Breakout.

    Before we had the likes of Angry Birds, we looked to Atari for our physics games. Breakout, which was released in 1976 for the arcades, taught games the joy of tearing down digital environments years before the Birds were even a gleam in their furious daddies' eyes. It looks like Atari still has a thing or two to teach us about ripping stuff up, so the company has teamed up with Zynga to produce Super Bunny Breakout, an iOS and Android re-imagining of its classic game.
