    If I had to classify Gemini Rue - and I do - I think I'd call it a "cyberpunk-noir existentialist thriller." It's a fascinating examination of humanity that unfolds against a grimy, dystopian sci-fi backdrop, where high technology and interstellar travel cross paths with desperate junkies and organized crime in a grim, slow-burning mystery that asks two questions for every one it answers. And it's a fantastically good game, too.

    Who wouldn't want an adorable little robot of their own? Thankfully, Dr. Hugo's Factory for Making Robots is here to help. The company makes cute little mechanical companions of all sorts, from robotic mermaids to walking flamethrowers. But something is not quite right with Dr. Hugo, so the robots take it upon themselves to find out just what's going on. In Wadjet Eye's Puzzle Bots you'll get to control a gang of five robots as they search the factory, solving puzzles and getting into trouble. The result is an incredibly charming adventure, packed with plenty of humor and some deviously clever puzzles.

    When a game comes along that features a rabbi as the lead character, you can't help but do a double-take. In The Shivah, a point-and-click adventure game from Wadjet Eye Games, that's just what you'll do.You play as Rabbi Russell Stone, a man whose faith is dwindling almost as fast as his congregation. One evening after services, Stone is visited by a policeman, who tells him that a former member of his synagogue, Jack Lauder, has been killed. Apparently, Lauder left Stone a large sum of money, but Stone doesn't understand why Lauder would have left anything to him after the falling out they had years ago. Thus begins the mystery.

    On the whole, point-and-click adventure games tend to get a bad rap for often being excruciatingly long, a little on the dry side, and gruelingly tough. The Blackwell Convergence is none of those things. Instead, it offers up a highly stylish supernatural tale filled with unusual characters and punchy plot twists. It's also just peculiar enough to keep you transfixed to the very end. Best of all, you needn't have to have played through its two predecessors to be able to jump right in and enjoy the adventure.
