Jungle Bug: Rock & Roll Review
By Jim Squires
The overwhelming popularity of survival games on the iPhone in recent months has touched on about every formula we can imagine. It should come as no surprise, then, that Jungle Bug: Rock'n'Roll isn't a title rooted in originality as much as it is in mimicry of other titles. This sort of copycat mentality is usually viewed as a negative when it comes to the App Store, but every now and then a copycat comes along and offers up a better experience than the original. Jungle Bug: Rock'n'Roll is one of those rare titles.BuzzBee Review

I'm allergic to bees, so I have to admit playing a game where the lead character is a buzzing bee is a little disconcerting. It's not that I don't like bees. I appreciate their role in nature. I love honey. I just try to stay clear of them for fear of being stung. Trust me; it's no fun to swell up like a balloon. With their new iPhone game BuzzBee, Utopian Games (makers of Tumble Jumble) attempts to prove that bees can be fun when they're safely trapped inside a video game.Tumble Jumble Review

Many years ago, I remember competing with my brothers for a try at a new game on the monochrome GameBoy device. Everyone who played it just couldn't put it down. We all wanted to get the highest score, and for some reason we never tired of making lines to erase the dropping blocks of varying shapes. Like the rest of the world, we were smitten with Tetris, a new kind of fun that would endure as one of the most unique game mechanics of all video games. Every since then, game developers have been trying to figure out ways to emulate Tetris and create a game genre without violating the copyright. Ideally, a worthy extension of the "stacking blocks of different shapes" category would add lots of variety and challenges. There are many out there who've tried and come up short. I think Tumble Jumble comes close.Bumps Review
By David Stone
Physics-based puzzle games like Peggle have proven to be very successful, but an integral part of Peggle's gameplay was the random elements of chance that made each game different. Take away that element, and you end up with Bumps.Essentially a large series of drop puzzles, Bumps is about dropping colored balls onto a series of platforms and letting the games excellent physics engine work its magic to collect like-colored keys. (The keys unlock cages filled with captured Bumps that are being stored away to be eaten by some alien invasion, but other than the opening sequence, it's just a foil for the gameplay.)
