From the hallowed halls of Ubisoft comes The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot, a free-to-play dungeon raiding game that sends players on mighty quests for epic loot - against each other. This one looks a bit out of character for Ubisoft, which is better known for major game franchises like Assassin's Creed and the various Tom Clancy games, but The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot also looks like it has the potential to be an absolute blast.

The Might and Magic IP has had its ups and downs throughout the years, but Ubisoft has managed to keep it afloat ever since they acquired it back in 2003. Since then, the company has proven themselves as not afraid to deviate from the framework of the original games, a decision that's delivered us some pretty fantastic titles. Now, with Might & Magic Heroes Online, the series will see its first foray into the free-to-play browser space. I have it on good authority that both magic and might will be present.
Anno Online Preview
Generally speaking, seeing a well-known franchise get adapted into a free-to-play game can be worrisome. While I won't sit here and tell you that the coast is clear with Anno Online, it does look like Ubisoft and developer Blue Byte are making a concerted effort to do right by the Anno series. Featuring a host of strategy and simulation elements not unlike what we saw in previous entries, and a visual style fans will feel right at home with, it looks like the company found an effective way to bridge the gap.
Ghost Recon Online Preview
It looks like Command & Conquer wasn't the first established franchise to get a free-to-play announcement today. To kick off more Gamescom news, Ubisoft has officially announced Ghost Recon Online - a freemium version of the popular AAA tactics shooter.
