    The Simpsons: Tapped Out was released for iOS in the first quarter of spring 2012, and later on Android in 2013. Not only has the Springfield-themed city-building game remained a consistently popular download since its launch dates, but it's also one of the top-monetizing free games on the App Store and Google Play.So it's not at all surprising that TinyCo looked over in EA's direction and said, "Say - look at what they're doing!" before taking pictures and frantically scribbling on a pad of paper. What is surprising is that it's taken this long for a Simpsons-style mobile game to get wrapped up in a Family Guy skin and slapped on the digital market."Sadly, the wait hasn't been worth it. With its aggressive panhandling for in-app purchases, long wait times, and (mostly) flat jokes, playing Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is as sad as watching Rupert the teddy bear grow soggy in a torrential rainstorm.

    I have to give TinyCo credit for Spellstorm; it's an online card collecting game with enhancements, evolutions, and PvP fighting yet it feels more like an adventure game than a freemium CCG. Of course it's still laden with freemium elements and can be a bit obtuse at times, but it's an unexpectedly interesting game with a passable story and an extensive selection of cards. Plus it's absolutely flippin' gorgeous.

This newest addition from Tiny Co. starts you out with a tiny kingdom and as you upgrade your castle and complete quests, you can build creature-specific homes and prolific farms. Feed and raise your creatures to adulthood where they can be cross-bred and eventually even more magical creatures will live in your kingdom, giving it great value.     What's a fantasy kingdom without plenty of fantasy creatures, right? TinyCo's new kingdom-builder does a good job of emphasizing creature care over simple building tasks, and even infuses a surprising amount of exposition into the proceedings. Once what serves as a tutorial section is over, a few of Tiny Castle's flaws become more noticeable, but overall it's still an enjoyable freemium title with plenty of charm.
