Motley Blocks Review
Square Enix's new 3D puzzle game, Motley Blocks, at times seems more befitting of the arcade classification, with fast-paced action that has you madly swiping and tapping at the screen. That's not to say the game lacks strategy. You'll be replaying puzzles over and over to maximize your score, strategically timing the use of power-ups and multipliers to create some deceptively deep gameplay. Nevertheless, rarely is a self-titled puzzle game as hectic and frenzied as this.Wizardlings Review
By Rob Rich
RPG elements have a habit of making their way into just about everything from shooters to puzzle games. With that in mind, it's exciting to see the fantasy milieu seep into the prototypical "mobile-social" title with Wizardlings. But while players have been starved for more than animal rearing, Square Enix's first free-to-play offering may have introduced a slew of problems to compensate for the ones it's solved.Demons’ Score Review
By Jim Squires
In its few short years on the gaming scene, just about every genre you could ever imagine has been tried on the iPhone. The one notable exception however, at least in my mind, has been an iNiS-style rhythm game. Best known for the touch-based DS hit Elite Beat Agents (or if you're a real game nerd like me, it's predecessor Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan), the folks at iNiS seemed like a perfect match for the growing smartphone market. And with the release of Demons' Score, they've proved that hunch right… more or less.Guardian Cross Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Except for a few big ones that don't need to be named, card battle games usually appeal to a niche audience. Guardian Cross has a few good reasons to think bigger, though: It's from Square Enix, it has creative talent from several Final Fantasy games behind it, and it's free. It also sounds like it was named by randomly combining two words from some of the company's past games, but we'll let that slide.Guardian Cross Walkthrough
Guardian Cross is a card-based battle RPG from Square Enix, wherein you can capture guardians and make them fight for you in an online arena style. Creating the ultimate battle team takes patience and knowledge, and we're here to help with Gamezebo's quick start guide. The World Ends with You: Solo Remix Review
By Eli Cymet
A week ago, I reported on the speculation that Square Enix's cult classic RPG The World Ends With You would be making the jump from Nintendo DS to iOS. As it turns out, speculation was right! So for most of the days that followed, I've been lost in dystopian Shibuya, Japan, determined to see if this version - dubbed Solo Remix - would be as strong an offering as the original. As it turns out, it isn't: it's much stronger.KooZac Review
KooZac is a match-based puzzle game that seems to be selling itself as a combination of Tetris and Sudoku, which as a fan of both sounds awesome. You're dropping numbered tiles onto a playfield to add them up to a target number in order to clear them out and gain points. Unlike in Tetris, however, there are only squares - as opposed to varied shapes - to drop; and unlike Sudoku you're not trying to hit a set sum but a varying and changing number. So it's really not like those games at all, but is it still awesome?Quantum Conundrum Review
The same way I occasionally get tired that random passersby mistake me for Gerard Butler, I can only imagine that Kim Swift and her team are getting tired of having Quantum Conundrum constantly berated as a "Portal clone". Yes, they are both witty first-person puzzlers with a unique dimensional physics mechanic. Unknown by many, Swift left Valve to pursue Conundrum, so you'd think she'd be off the hook by now.
