Organization: Social Point
Social Wars Review
By Tony Capri
Virtual wars are the fuel that feed gaming fires. We simply can't seem to get enough simulated combat. Of course, nothing's better than sharing destruction with friends, and Social Point has answered the call with Social Wars for Facebook. Is this military adventure worthy of a medal, or will players find themselves in a futile conflict?Men vs Women Review
The battle of the sexes has been a war going on since time began, and developer Social Point is re-imagining it. Men vs Women pits the two sides against one another in a new global conflict with one side trying to topple the tyranny of the other in a social strategy style akin to that of Social Empires. That in mind, the game basically is a remake of the Social Point predecessor, only moving out of the medieval ages and into the modern era.The Flying Dog Review
There are approximately one billion games floating around the world wide web that have you hiting, shooting, or throwing an object as far as you possibly can. They're popular because of their fun simplicity, but at the same time any new game in the genre has its work cut out for it. At first The Flying Dog seems like a game that will consume quite a bit of your time; after all, it's all about using an elephant's trunk to smash a dog through the air. Who wouldn't love that? Unfortunately, its dead simple gameplay, lack of social features, and obtrusive ads make this a game good for little more than a few minutes of fun.Pool Master 2 Review
By Alicia Ashby
Pool Master 2 is another one of Social Point's Facebook games that feel more like a downloadable title, this time taking on the time-honored genre of PC pool games. Pool Master 2 turns pool into an attempt to get the highest score possible in two minutes of play. A player gains points for sinking shots into the pockets, with bonuses for combination shots and a penalty for scratching (that is, sinking the cue ball into a pocket). Power-ups appear in certain locations on certain tables, granting bonuses like extra time on the clock or the ability to make power shots.Super Crayon Review
By Alicia Ashby
Super Crayon doesn't feel much like a Facebook game when you initially play it. The action-puzzle gameplay and bright minimalist graphics feel more like the sort of thing that a mobile developer would come up with for iOS or Android. The goal of the game is not to score attack or do anything else you'd usually do in a Facebook action game, but instead an arcade-style attempt to try and survive for as many levels as you can. You even get three lives each time you start a new session and can earn more lives by getting particularly high scores.Trial Madness 2 Review
If there's one kind of game that's hard to find on Facebook these days (and gaming platforms in general, for that matter), it's the simple but maddeningly challenging games that defined the gaming scene in the 1980s. Trial Madness 2 fills this void nicely. You won't find deep social options or ambitious graphics here, but you will find hours of addicting gameplay that force you to learn how to navigate a motocross bike through ancient ruins and down the necks of giraffes.Social Empires Review
Social Empires looks to take elements found in real-time strategy games and simplify them for Facebook. While the concept is sound, everything else falls apart rather quickly.
