Warning: The following review is kind of gross. Not hugely so, but just enough to give you pause. If you're willing to push past the initial "yuck" factor you'll find it to be worth reading, because it's talking about Gesundheit!, a game with the exact same qualities.
Revolutionary Concepts, the team that gave us UFO on Tape, has announced its next project for iOS: an arcade puzzle game called Gesundheit! The game tells the story of a little pig with allergies - the runt of the litter - who narrowly escapes capture when monsters invade his village, and finds courage he never knew he had as he sets out to save his friends.
We live in a culture where most people walk around with recording devices in their pockets. As such, it's hard to get away with anything without it cropping up on YouTube 10 minutes later. UFO on Tape suggests that even technologically advanced beings from another planet cannot escape our collective gaze.
The thing about classic arcade games is that every one of them achieves a classic balance. Pac-Man, dated though it may be, doesn't really stop being fun to play the older it gets. Asteroids, Missile Command, Centipede - they all have a timeless quality, a certain combination of mechanics that elevated them to that pantheon of arcade cabinets in the collective nerd hall-of-fame. Frogger is one such game. And so we come to Banzai Rabbit: clearly an homage to the old pixelated amphibian hero, with some fresh new visuals and a backbreaking difficulty curve.
