Frontline Commando 2 Review
I'm new to the series, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I started up Frontline Commando 2 for the first time. In some ways it's about what I expected: burly dudes that almost could have come from that one really popular game about throwing bullets at one another. But it's also a well-constructed shooter that isn't ridiculously heavy-handed with the in-app purchases. I'd even call it "a lot of fun."There's a story behind the events of Frontline Commando 2, but it's pretty much just a backdrop. Bad guys doing bad guy things has and will always be a great excuse. Each mission takes place in a fairly enclosed area with a few cover points and quite a few enemy soldiers to shoot at. There's no open movement, however - players can tap arrows on either side of the screen to move to a new piece of cover in that direction (best used for avoiding explosives or getting a better angle for a shot), but that's the extent of the movement. Instead, they'll be using the on-screen virtual buttons to focus on aiming, shooting, and reloading. And not getting shot, obviously.

Heroes of Destiny Review
iOS games that emphasize team management via tracing paths on the screen to both move and designate targets are always a good time. Of course sometimes they can be a bit unwieldy. This is Heroes of Destiny's most notable trait: an intelligent and responsive interface. Being full of different characters to hire and lots of loot to upgrade is just a perk.
Dragon Storm Review
A literal storm of dragons would be pretty dangerous. So we're lucky there isn't such a thing, even if the graphics that meteorologists would use to depict it in the 10-day forecast would be pretty cool. The iOS game Dragon Storm, conversely, is a real thing, made by Griptonite and Glu Games as a multiplayer fantasy builder and battle game. It also looks pretty cool, but the gameplay doesn't live up to the high bar set by its visuals.

If imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery, the people who made Infinity Blade must be absolutely blushing by now. Developers just can't wean themselves off of those tried-and-true game mechanics for mobile action games, so it should come as no surprise that Glu Mobile's Dragon Slayer continues in that vein. It does carve itself out a unique niche in terms of setting and visuals, but is that enough for iOS and Android gamers?
