With the success of games like Jetpack Joyride, the endless-game-with-currency-and-mini-objectives genre has become quite crowded. As with any artistic medium, when the current ideas start getting hackneyed and derivative, it's time to look underground: in this case, with a drilling machine. Gold Diggers has no half-baked frame narrative to justify what doesn't need justification. Boot up the game and you'll be drilling so fast you'll probably run into an obstacle before you realize the game has started.

Movies and comic books have illustrated the crazy lengths that prospectors and other yee-haw types went to in order to wrestle a few flakes of gold from the unyielding ground. Methods included panning in freezing water for hours and bashing at rocks with picks. In fact, that's how the protagonist of Gamistry's Gold Diggers begins seeking her fortune, but with little success. All that changes when she finds a machine that's capable of taking her to the mother lode sleeping deep, deep underground.

Munch Time for the iOS is a cute physics-based platform puzzler with amusing visuals, deceptively simple challenges, and a surprisingly versatile lizard tongue. Easy to pick up but difficult to master, the only real problem with the game is that it's done with quickly.
