The second game in the Phantasmat series, ERS is taking over the helm from previous developers Codeminion, and the new game looks set to be just as awesome as the first. ERS has worked on a whole heap of other top-class hidden object adventures, including the Haunted Halls, Puppetshow and Dark Tales series. In short, these guys know what they're doing.

    For the last few months, the games coming out of ERS Game Studios have been going steadily downhill. ERS cranks games out at breakneck speed, and it's possible that at this point, the pace of development has begun to negatively affect product quality. The company's last two releases, Redemption Cemetery: Grave Testimony and Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel were both far from amazing, and its latest release, Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga, is the weakest yet seen.

    It's unusual for expert adventure game makers ERS Game Studios to stumble. The company's a well-oiled machine, cranking out top-selling hidden object adventures at an unbelievable rate. Perhaps it's speed that's to blame for the so-so success of its latest adventure, Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel. Whatever the reason, this title, though exhibiting all the quality ingredients of an ERS production, never really comes together. In the end it does little justice to the ERS name.
