    Oh, Video Game Hero. One of these days you might try not approaching that old dilapidated building that inevitably turns out to be haunted. Of course, you don't have much of a choice in Codeminion's Phantasmat. Don't let the well-worn plot device fool you, though. In a genre where so many games are rushed to market, Phantasmat is a breath of fresh air. The developer's respect for the hidden object audience, coupled with a clear understanding of what this audience likes and doesn't like, makes buying this game a no-brainer.

    Despite what the name might imply, Bayo Bongo isn't a rhythm game. Instead, it's a block matching puzzler with an underwater theme from the creators of Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal. But while the action is enjoyable and the production values solid, the game suffers from a complete lack of any sort of save function and a minuscule number of different stages to play through.

    Okay, I'll admit that with a funny name like StoneLoops! Of Jurassica (what is a stone loop anyway?) and screenshots that look like Zuma or Luxor, I had fairly low expectations for this very popular iPhone game. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised to find that not only is StoneLoops! Of Jurassica worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as its more famous predecessors, but also the entire package adds up to brontosaurus-sized fun!

Whether exploring new ways to play connect the dots (Magic Match) or turning the marble-blasting genre on its head (StoneLoops of Jurassica!), the studio always makes a point of doing something eye-catching with each release. Be thankful then nothing's changed in latest offering Ancient Quest of Saqqarah.
