Dripping with strangeness, memory lapses, and a cast of characters that would be just as comfortable in a David Lynch movie, the 1112 series has been providing serious adventure gamers with one of the most captivating mysteries we've played in years. It's been nearly 15 months since Agharta Studios released Episode 02, but much to our delight, 1112: Episode 03 was well worth the wait.
The third episode in the 1112 adventure game series (following episodes 01 and 02) will launch on Aug. 23 for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the game's developer Agharta Studio has just announced. In Episode 03 the hero, Louis, is back in Jalonsville by means of an enigmatic passageway, but as the mystery thickens he begins to stagger into madness. Can you help him regain a foothold in reality?
With nearly 18 months having come and gone since the release of 1112 Episode 01, few fans of the series ever thought they'd see the sequel they were promised. But a promise is a promise, and 1112 Episode 02 has finally landed on the App Store. Better late than never, I say.
Originally released back in 2008, 1112 Episode 01 was heralded by critics as a stunning achievement in art and gameplay. An adventure game featuring hand-drawn art, it was the first of its kind on the iPhone. Now, 18 months and some 50,000 iPhone games later, Agharta Studio has released its follow-up. Before we explore that, however, we thought it best to take a look back at the game that came before it with a fresh review of 1112 Episode 01.
