Offworld Review
6waves gets back to doing what it is they seem to do best, with yet one more freemium adventure landing on the App Store. Unfortunately, they've taken a game with solid gameplay design and oodles of great ideas and held it hostage within a grindy mechanism that sucks out most of the fun from the experience.

Bubble Epic Review
The first thing that made me like Bubble Epic was the eerie but amicable tree trunk that shoots out the projectiles in this new bubble popper. It reminded me of my younger days in gaming; specifically, the art style of 1990's Gargoyle's Quest, and I found myself expecting additional touches of "epicness" to an increasingly tired genre. Unfortunately, the feeling wore off quickly, and I was left playing a bubble shooter that felt like others in the genre despite some fine touches to its aesthetics and minor changes to its gameplay.

I've talked to many of the folks at Vancouver's East Side Games before; they're most definitely a vibrant, silly bunch. After all, this is the developer of Pot Farm we're talking about. And yet, with their newly announced iPad title Ruby Skies, they may have raised the bar even for themselves. Okay, let's be honest. The bar is a dot for this team.
Dynasty Review
Picture this: You're a restless explorer, and you're returning to your father's estate for the first time in years. Your father is long gone, and so are his millions. You walk onto the estate lands and your eyes immediately fall on the tattered buildings, the sour fields, and the rusted corpses of vehicles parked willy-nilly. You sigh, and drop your pack on the dirt with a thud. You steel yourself, roll up your sleeves, and sit down on Facebook to manage your virtual inheritance through Dynasty, because your parents don't actually own any property except for a centipede-ridden bungalow in the suburbs.
Vampire Season Review
When I wrote the preview of Vampire Season for iOS, I felt a good deal of excitement about the game's pending arrival. I love horror, and the idea of taking control of character archetypes from the genre was a pretty exciting concept to me. The stakes were high (pun intended), and I'm happy to say the game delivered on most accounts. Pun also intended.
