XCOM: Enemy Unknown Removed From App Store, Google Play

If you were excited about this morning’s release of XCOM: Enemy Within on the App Store and Google Play, there’s a good chance that you’ve already played the mobile version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

If you haven’t, though, you’re officially out of luck.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been removed from both the App Store and Google Play as of this morning. Since it was one of Gamezebo’s top picks for 2013, we felt it our obligation to reach out to 2K Games to get the full story. Here’s what they had to say:

We removed it to avoid any confusion amongst our fans, as we want to make sure they are getting the best XCOM experience possible.

You’ll be glad to know that if you’ve downloaded XCOM: Enemy Unknown previously, you’ll continue to have access to the game “to download and play at any time,” 2K tells us. And if you haven’t, don’t worry – Enemy Within includes everything you missed the first time around.
