Sometimes rumors do come true.

Late last week we reported that EA and Playfish would be bringing some sort of officially licensed baseball game to Facebook, and today World Series Superstars has launched, just in time for the new season of Major League Baseball.

The game appears to follow in the footsteps of other EA Sports social games like FIFA Superstars and Madden NFL Superstars, by allowing players to manage a team of pro players as opposed to actually playing the sport itself. You create your own team, including name and logo, as opposed to managing one of the pre-existing MLB franchises.

You can play World Series Superstars on Facebook right now, but stay tuned to Gamezebo for our full review in the near future.
