Studio Null Games has been burning the midnight oil getting everything ready for their debut title. It’s Will O Wing, which they just announced for PC with a new trailer. It’s their first game as both developer and publisher.

Will O Wing is now available on Steam to wishlist. It’s an atmospheric pixel art puzzle platformer with 2D pixel art. The presentation and even the gameplay (to some extent) will remind you of the titles Limbo and Forgotton Anne.

The world in Will O Wing is really pretty. You travel through beautiful atmospheric locations full of unique puzzles. It has nonlinear environments and a retro-inspired presentation. The magical, otherworldly imagery adds to the story of guiding lost souls across dangerous terrain. Watch the trailer below to see for yourself.

What do you do in Will O Wing?

You explore harsh, mysterious lands, using magic, and guiding long-forgotten souls through ancient ruins. Your character has a strange mystical connection to the ruins, and as you explore, you find out what happened to a forgotten civilisation.

You can tackle the game’s increasingly dangerous worlds in pretty much any order you want. The difficulty changes depending on where you go first. So, different playthroughs can feel a little different with the changing levels.

So, you make your way through the world, searching for long-forgotten souls, collecting extra charges to strengthen your abilities, and unlocking new magical powers. You’ll be able to transform between shepherd and spirit, teleport through the air, and discover creative ways to overcome obstacles.

Will O Wing will come to PC by next year, although there’s no solid date for its release yet. If you’re looking for more games with magical themes, read our next scoop on I Shall Name The Dead, a Surreal Tale of Magical Realism Coming to Steam.
