Third-Person Action-Adventure Usual June Drops a Demo on Steam

What does a relaxing summer break mean for you? Apart from hanging out with friends, does it involve part-time jobs? Or maybe chatting with a ghost or two and punching spectral monsters in the face? Well, then Usual June is what your summer break probably looks like.

Usual June is an upcoming game from Finji, which is both the developer and publisher. Launching later in 2026, it’s a third-person action-adventure game that follows June, a teenager who expected a normal summer.

Instead, she ends up digging into the darkest secrets of Fen Harbor, a fictional Midwestern town. There, she battles supernatural creatures and tries to prevent a space-time catastrophe that could literally cause existence to fall apart.

Along the way, June teams up with a group of new friends, some living and some very much not living. Together, they investigate the town’s hidden history. You explore a shattered multi-dimensional continuum and spend time hanging out at the cemetery. You also fight enormous monsters from beyond the pale.

Usual June offers frantic and flexible combat

Alongside that, it’s a cast full of witty characters and a conspiracy-driven story that balances horror, comedy, and heartfelt moments. A big focus is on the fictional town of Fen Harbor which captures the feeling of life in a Michigan-style Everytown.

For that, the devs not only focused on big landmark buildings, but also on the ordinary places. Things like rundown apartments or outdated university basements mattered just as much as the impressive locations. On that note, take a look at the game below.

Apparently, the devs wanted to tell stories about their hometown and the people who live there. That’s how Usual June took shape. And with the region’s violent thunderstorms and massive tornadoes, they consider the Midwest a perfect place for a ghost story.
