One of the cosiest games to release last year on PC, Urban Jungle, is now available for Nintendo Switch. The green-fingered casual sim is also available on Xbox Series X|S. Published by Assemble Entertainment and developed by Kylyk Games, it lets you build your own little green sanctuary.

Urban Jungle is about turning small, ordinary apartments into lush, plant-filled homes

You get a growing collection of exotic and beautiful plants, and your job is to figure out where each one belongs. Unlike real gardening, though, you won’t have to worry about watering schedules, pests, or dead leaves.

The plants just need a good spot, and that’s enough to help transform your apartment into the cosiest place possible. To find the ideal location, you spend time experimenting with layouts and moving things around.

Figuring out the best arrangement and finding the optimal placements brings rewards. You get new species to add to your collection, for instance. And you can interact with various household items, like lamps and humidifiers, apart from plants.

You can use them to alter the atmosphere of your apartment and make each space feel even more welcoming. There are no time limits and no punishment for experimenting. You are free to move plants around, redesign rooms, and adjust everything at your own pace.

As your apartment evolves, so does the story

Urban Jungle uses environmental storytelling, letting the narrative emerge naturally through the rooms you create and the objects around them. In the background, there’s a heartwarming story that unfolds across different stages of the protagonist’s life.

With its calming visuals, ambient audio, and relaxing music, Urban Jungle is a cosy game built for unwinding. You can find it on Steam, Switch or Xbox.
