After receiving quite the praise for its demo, Twisted Tower has finally got a release date. It’s launching on August 18th, 2026, for PC via Steam. The game is a first-person action-adventure horror and shooter from Atmos Games by Thomas Brush, with 3D Realms handling publishing.

If Thomas Brush sounds familiar, that’s because he’s the creator of popular titles like Pinstripe and Neversong. After five years of development, you’ll be able to fully experience the abandoned 1950s theme park and its creepy vibes.

In fact, Twisted Tower resembles another hit title, BioShock, a lot. I saw the mascots and over-the-top carnival, and all I could think was BioShock 1’s Circus of Values. The titles have the same goofy, colourful, and cheerful but creepy, unsettling vibes.

So, what happens in Twisted Tower?

It’s a forgotten 1950s amusement resort that’s become a nightmare. Fairy-tale mascots have gone completely off the rails, and the place is full of deadly traps, twisted puzzles, and horrifying secrets. You climb all the way to the top of the tower to save the love of your life while uncovering the dark truth about your past.

You get to wander through five different locations: the hotel, the waterpark, the clown casino, the carnival forest, and a space station. You might be grabbing a suspicious hot dog, riding a merry-go-round, or taking a probably terrible swim in the water park. The variety is quite astounding.

Combat lets you have a collection of toy-inspired weapons. There’s a whack-a-mole mallet, a rubber-band pistol, a dart-throwin’ Tommy Gun, a fartin’ shotgun, a bubblegum-spittin’ chain-gun, a sniper slingshot, and a skull-poppin’ ray gun. There are more bizarre weapons beyond those.
