Surprise, skateboarding fans! Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, the recent remake of the first two entries in the series, has just dropped on Steam. And, to add a little icing to that cake, it’s 50% off for a limited time to celebrate. That’s £19.99 / $19.99, down from £39.99 / $39.99 to be specific.

It’s the latest Activision game to arrive on Steam since the publisher made a return to the platform last year with Modern Warfare 2. Prior to that, Steam hadn’t seen a Call of Duty since 2017’s World War II. Since the return, all Call of Duties bar Black Ops 4 are now available on Steam.

What About Other Activision Games?

Outside of Call of Duty, we have seen scattered Steam releases. Sekiro, Spyro, and Crash Trilogy have all launched on the platform, while Crash 4 and Pro Skater 1 + 2 (at least until today) only launched on Battle.net and Epic Games respectively.

But that’s the history lesson over with. Fundamentally, the news is that you can now get Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Steam now, and that’s a good thing. Hopefully Activision has seen since, will ditch its own launcher, and accept the cut in sales to make life easier for us all.

Hey, we can dream, right?

What’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2?

For those unaware, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a remake of the first two entries in the series. Vicarious Visions, the team behind the excellent Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogy remakes, put it together and the quality is as excellent as you’d expect.

It maintains the visual style of the originals but completely modernises it. It’s realistic, but with an extra dash of colour to help make the various levels a lot more appealing to spend time in.

Is There Any New Content?

The remakes also introduce all-new content. While the original roster of pros make an appearance, the team has also introduced a bunch of new pros to help modernise it further. The same goes for the soundtrack, too, with the original songs appearing alongside new skater music.

Aside from that, it’s Tony Hawk’s as you know and love it. Skate around a series of levels, complete challenges within a time limit, and pull off a wide variety of challenging tricks. You can even do it with a friend in local co-op.

So head on over to Steam and grab Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 right now. If you do want to play it, I recommend grabbing it soon while it’s 50% off!
