The Sims 4 is announced

Rejoice my fellow Sims fans, because today is a day for jubilation. I can’t say I’m all that surprised about the news, but it’s still pretty exciting to hear nonetheless. That’s right, today Maxis has announced the existence of The Sims 4. I can hear my quirky virtual family murmuring nonsense words in excitement already!

The very brief announcement by Electronic Arts and Maxis promises that more information about the eagerly-anticipated sequel will be revealed later today on EA’s company blog, The Beat. And just in case you have somehow forgotten how popular and successful The Sims series has been over the years, EA was nice enough to give us all a little reminder about their team’s dedication to making another quality product:

The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world. Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most successful simulation game that has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide.”

Little else is known about the upcoming title right now, except that it will be released on PC and Mac platforms sometime in 2014. While that’s certainly still a long way away, you can expect to find plenty of updates about the game right here on Gamezebo as they arrive. What new features do you hope to see the most in The Sims 4? Be sure to let us know in the replies (no indecipherable Sims language though, please)!
