The Simpsons Tapped Out is coming back to the App Store this week

For all of the ups and down EA has had in the world of social games, few releases have managed to garner the kind of instant success that The Simpsons: Tapped Out did.  In fact, the success was so overwhelming that EA had to pull it from the App Store because they couldn’t handle the server strain.

For all of the ups and down EA has had in the world of social games, few releases have managed to garner the kind of instant success that The Simpsons: Tapped Out did.  In fact, the success was so overwhelming that EA had to pull it from the App Store because they couldn’t handle the server strain.

Now, 5 months later, EA has announced that The Simpsons are back on the App Store.  The announcement was made this morning during EA’s press conference at Gamescom, but unlike most press conference teasers, this wasn’t a promise to see it coming back soon.  Instead, you can expect to play it in North America this week, and worldwide later this month.

EA also teased that the game now features “improved gameplay and enhanced graphics,” so if you’re one of the lucky few who scored this Springfield city-builder before it disappeared in March, there’s reason to come back for more.  The game is already live in Germany and Canada, so if you’re fortunate enough to be a Simpsons fan in one of those countries,  Click here to download the game now and check it out for yourself!
