If you’re an Android owner and a Simpsons fan, odds are you missed out on last summer’s The Simpsons: Tapped Out when it launched on iOS. Fortunately, after months of excruciating torture, those of us who favor Android gaming are in luck—Tapped Out is now available on Google Play!

For those who are unfamiliar, Tapped Out is a freemium city building game that starts off with Homer causing a meltdown and wiping out all of Springfield. From there, it’s up to you to rebuild the city and find all his friends and family. The game features dozens of memorable characters and another few dozen memorable locations from the show, and comes packed with animated cutscenes.  But if you want more info, be sure to check out the Gamezebo review of the iOS version!

Between the press release and the app’s Google Play description, there are a few things to keep in mind before you start playing. The Android version does not currently allow you to visit your friends’ cities (but hopefully that’s fixed soon!). You also need to have a constant Internet connection to play, so my fellow Nexus 7 owners may have issues trying to play on the go.

The greatest part of The Simpsons: Tapped Out coming to Android? Now we can all make Apu work ridiculously long shifts at the Kwik-E-Mart!

Derek Tillotson spends his free time wandering around San Francisco, forever searching for the best burrito in town. He hasn't found it yet, but the hunt may very well be the greatest treasure of all. When not eating burritos, Derek writes stuff and posts updates to his blog at derektillotson.com.
