Temple Run lands on Android March 27

Temple Run has been a runaway success for iOS devices, and Android users have long been awaiting their turn to put the endless running title through its paces. While we reported back in January that an Android version was in the works, we didn’t have a solid date. Now we know for a fact that Temple Run will be sucking up the free time of Android users on March 27.

“We are excited to finally share the Android release date with our fans who have been so enthusiastic and supportive of Temple Run,” said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios. “By expanding to more mobile devices, we hope to provide the same addictive and fast-paced gameplay to an entirely new group of players.”

The iOS version of Temple Run has been a staple at the top of the App Store, pulling in over 40 million downloads in less than a year. The fast-paced, twitch-based game combines clever controls with fun power-ups and addictive coin collecting. There’s a ton of stuff to unlock with in-app currency, giving the game quite the lifespan on most phones.

We’re very pleased to see a title which we absolutely loved on iOS make the jump to Android. For anyone who’s been waiting to try it out, you’re in for a good time. Just be sure to clear your calendar for the next couple of weeks at least. Actually, you might want to make that the next couple of months.
