Mobile games platform Tapjoy has employed cross-platform distributor Viximo to improve the suite of social integration and app discovery tools they currently offer developers. The transaction will see the core team from Viximo comprising a new studio in Boston, and enable Tapjoy to expand their current platform at a much faster rate.

“With this expansion in Boston, we have assembled a team that can best deliver innovative social experiences to our consumers and developers,” said Tapjoy CEO Mihir Shah in a press release. And while details are scarce on what exactly Viximo will be bringing to the company, an expansion of “product offerings and complimentary services” are in the cards. And, ultimately, that statement applies to both companies.

“Becoming part of the Tapjoy team presents us with an incredible opportunity to accelerate our evolution from social into mobile,” said Viximo co-founder Sean Lindsay. Incorporating mobile games into their business would mark a big change for Viximo, whose part work revolved around helping social game developers bring their wares to social networks outside of Facebook.

There’s a lot of potential behind the two companies partnering up, and while we’ve yet to be provided any sort of tangible details on what it will lead to, something tells me it will be to the benefit of both the user and developer base of the Tapjoy and Viximo communities.
