Fan of roguelites, deck building, and anime? Well, Tales of Two Heroes might be just what you’re looking for. You’re tasked to find the ‘Altar’ – pretty mysterious, right? In fact, you control two heroes from opposing sides of the war. One is a human, and the other is a demon.

Trouble Around Every Corner

While the gameplay is quite simple, you must utilise your deck strategically as you go up against various enemies who stand in your way. It’s not all serious though, with a little bit of comedy thrown into the mix too. Each step can lead to a range of situations, with some being much more deadly than others – tread carefully!

The action pathway is linear, but you’ll need to decide which direction to go in. Luckily for you, hovering over the event means you can double-check what lies ahead. However, the event icons with a question mark will only be revealed once you select them – better hope for a good one!

What Else Does the Game Have to Offer?

As you progress, you’ll unlock interactive visual novel-style cutscenes that provide you with little snippets of lore and character development. After all, this type of game works best when you actually feel connected to a character and the world around them.

There’s even an in-game shop where you can purchase upgrades with your hard-earned golden coins! If you manage to make it to the Altar, your next journey will feature brand-new events. This provides Tales of Two Heroes with a sufficient amount of replayability, which is needed for games that are more on the simplistic side.
