There are only a few things that happen once a year that seemingly everyone in America gets on board with; Halloween, the Fourth of July, and – of course – the Superbowl. It’s the culmination of 17 weeks worth of grueling competition followed by an even tougher fight in the playoffs, and it’s all to determine one simple thing: who is this year’s king of the gridiron?

There are only a few things that happen once a year that seemingly everyone in America gets on board with; Halloween, the Fourth of July, and – of course – the Superbowl. It’s the culmination of 17 weeks worth of grueling competition followed by an even tougher fight in the playoffs, and it’s all to determine one simple thing: who is this year’s king of the gridiron?

And with the Superbowl comes one of our favorite American traditions: the Superbowl party. Finger foods, friends, and fun come together for a fantastic night of cringe-inducing fumbles and cheer-worthy plays. But if you’re having friends over tonight for the big game, what are you going to feed them?

Maybe playing a few of these will give you some good ideas;

Pac-Man Pizza Parlor – Sometimes there’s just not enough time to cook. Maybe it would be better to order in? If you’re going to, be sure to grab a couple of pies from the best pizza joint in town! I’ll have pepperoni, mushrooms, and… POWER PELLETS?!?!

news

Burger Joint – When it comes to delicious finger foods, “burgers” isn’t usually the first thought in a party planners mind. But what about sliders? They’re all the rage nowadays, just as tasty, and fit comfortably between the thumb and forefinger. Throw a napkin under them to prevent a juicy and delicious mess, and you’ve got two-bite burgers that everyone can enjoy!

Fruit Ninja Frenzy – Some of your guests may want some healthier options for nibbling, and since all of the celery and carrots will no doubt be gobbled up by the chicken wing eaters, why not offer up a tasty fruit tray? Add a little caramel dip in the middle, and don’t forget to slice the fruit (preferably with a katana)!

news

HotDog Hotshot – One of the biggest traditions at any Superbowl party is to serve food that’s native to the hometowns of the team’s playing – and what’s more New York than a hot dog? From street vendors to Nathan’s Famous, the city is well-known for its tasty wieners on a bun.

news

Deadliest Catch – Speaking of food from a team’s hometown, who can think of New England without their mouth watering at the thought of delicious seafood treats like lobster and clam chowder? Sure, Deadliest Catch is about the world of Alaskan crab fishing, but cut us some slack – you try to find a game about lobstering off the coast of Maine. 😛

news

Ninja Fishing – Expecting some guests with a more cultured palette? Sushi might just be in order! It’s a perfect bite-sized taste of the East, where American football isn’t even really a thing. Waitaminnit – it IS??

news

MapleStory Adventures – Speaking of international football, our friends to the north have a great league too: the CFL. Sure their fields are a little longer than ours, and their plays are missing a down – but what better way to celebrate North American football solidarity this Superbowl Sunday than with a tasty Canadian maple snack treat? Bake up a tray of delicious maple cookies, and try to find a repeat of this year’s Grey Cup game to watch before our big show. Go Lions!! (I don’t want to ruin it for you, but it doesn’t turn out well for the Blue Bombers).

news

Cupcake Corner – Cookies not your cup of tea? Why not take a stop by Cupcake Corner and bake up a little heaven in a paper sleeve? If you do, be sure to frost the cupcakes in team colors. Heck – if you’re really talented in the world of cake decorating, maybe you could even put a team logo on each one!

news

Margaritaville Online – Food isn’t the only duty a host or hostess needs to provide – you’ll need some tasty libations to wash that food down! And what better halftime cocktail can you imagine than a frosty margarita?

news

ESPN Sports Bar & Grill – All of the suggestions above are great, but only if you’re having a party. What if you’re planning on watching the Superbowl at home alone? Well that’s no fun! Get out and meet some people! A big event like the Superbowl is always best with a big crowd. Get out to your local sports bar, pull up a stool, order some chicken wings, and root for your favorite East Coast team!
